February Music Event Run Down

Nashville will be host to some great shows and events this month. From you dub step loving bassheads to you hip hop enthusiasts, there is a show that all of you will love and appreciate. Here are the shows that I will be attending and think are worthy of your dollar and your support.

It’s been four years and I can say I have missed the band that has a lead singer with model good looks and a voice to match. The All-American Rejects will be playing Sunday, February 6 at Exit/In. The band is touring the US promoting their upcoming fourth album, Kids in the Street.  The album is set to be released on March 27 and I’m hoping it is more like 2005’s Move Along than 2008’s When the World Comes Down.

This Friday, February 3, Nashville’s own Dee Goodz will be performing at Exit/In with Gravy and The Biscuits. This MC came on the scene a little over a year ago, but he has made his mark and is making sure people remember his name. His 2005 mixtape, College Kids & Dropouts was hosted and produced by DJ Crisis. This artist has a new feel and I personally know him, so I suggest you go see him!

For the release of their second album, Mom & Dad, Cherub is throwing a party! The album release party goes down on Saturday, February 11 at Mercy Lounge.  Cherub is an electro-pop duo comprised of Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber. The group gets audiences dancing with electronic beats and lyrics dripping of sexual innuendoes. Cherub just wants to make you feel good and dance a little.
Tickets: $10 Early Bird $15 with CD

Still riding off the success of his second studio album, Take Care, Drake will be hitting the Bridgestone Arena stage this month. He brings his highly anticipated Paradise Tour through Nashville on Friday, February 17.  Along for the ride are special guests Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky.
Tickets: $57-77
All Ages

Love dubstep? Well come dance with the proclaimed “American King of DubStep.” 12th Planet brings his The End is Near! Tour through Nashville on Sunday, February 19. The bass bumping, dance party will take place at Mai Nightclub. And for those of you that are so lucky, Monday is President’s Day so you can dance the night away and sleep the day away. Hosted by Bassrush, 12th Planet will be coming with some special guests.

The second Birth of the Originals Tour will be making it’s stop in Nashvhille on Saturday, February 25 at 12th & Porter. Headliners include Plane Jane, a female rap duo from Nashville and Chels. DJ Crisis will host this event.

Check back to the Events Calendar weekly. I will update it as new events pop up. Let me know if you know of any great music events I’m missing. Now go out and be social!
